Getting Licensed to Grow Hemp in Alabama
It is legal for licensed hemp program participants to grow hemp in Alabama. License-holders must and have their growing sites approved by the state’s Department of Agriculture & Industries before planting.
A criminal background check report (NOT the application for criminal background check) must be submitted for every applicant and every key participant of partnerships, corporations and other entities. Applicants must apply and pay for criminal background checks directly to ALEA. Do not send application for criminal background check to ADAI.
ALEA COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING BACKGROUND CHECK: Please arrive before 3pm M-F for same day turnaround. The application process takes between 45 minutes to an hour.
